We, humans, are truly pack animals. Our make-up is such that we are meant to be in circles, tribes, communities, friendships, partnerships, families and extended families.
The modern era has deprived many women of what was once our heritage the world over - being in a circle together.
So many people have tried to fill the void left from being disconnected to meaningful community with consumerism and entertainment. It can only go so far in bringing about life satisfaction.
Many others seek out spiritual practice, sports or religion. Of course there are many benefits that come with all of that but many women still feel something is missing. Most especially if the religion or spiritual tradition has been centered in renunciation, patriarchy or more linear ways of thinking and doing.
There is a particular energy that awakens and a natural nurturance available within a supportive circle of women. Nothing has to "happen", there is something simply magical about the formation. Hierarchies and stacking power structures don't hold up well within a sacred circle. Circles are about the dynamic distribution of focus, energy, power, expression, connection, and flow.
Circles move us out of linear ways of thinking and doing and invite us into the curvilinear, cyclical, circular field of co-creating, connecting and being.
Human circles are most dynamic and healing when each member fully embodies their own sovereignty, autonomy, and the exquisitely unique essential qualities that they bring to the whole.
A circle becomes a living mandala and energetic tapestry when each personal thread and color maintains and expresses its particular brilliance and then freely chooses to weave wisdom and beauty together.
Some circles come into creation for an evening, some for a day and some formulate and dissolve over and over like a Tibetan sand mandala for a lifetime or more.
How would it feel for you to join or create a sacred circle near you, sometime soon?
